NOTD

My very last NOTD of 2012!

I got OPI's strawberry margarita before Christmas and have worn it twice since then. It is such an amazing pink colour, and I really love it.

OPI Strawberry Margarita

It is such a bright cheerful colour, and although it's a hot pink there is an underlying "barbie" pink about it which makes it a little more girly and fruity if that makes a scrap of sense!

I really adore the colour and it will be great for summer, but for now it is lifting my winter blues.

I painted my nails with 2 coats of the colour and then glitzed it up a bit with some gold glitter pieces and a couple of stars. I really like the combination of this pink with gold.

I also have it on my toes too and because it is such a bright summery colour I am looking forward to doing a tropical themed nail art with it. Maybe add a little lime green and yellow swirls and some slices of lemon and lime. Watch this space, I will create that look for spring, but for now back to cold dark days. I feel like I am drowning under a pile of chocolates and I don't remember the last time I ate a proper meal. I have been eating a whole load of rubbish and feel pretty rubbish too because of it.
I don't know about you, but I am ready for the new year, a fresh start, and I will be a little healthier ; )

Yearly Heros

Here we are on the 31st of December 2012, as we are approaching the last few hours of an epic year that will be remembered for a very long time in Britain's history, I think about all the things that have happened this year. We celebrated the Queens Diamond Jubilee, battled on the pitch in Euro 2012, and hosted the London 2012 Olympic and paralympic games. What an amazing year! I hope you all move into 2013 with fond memories of the last 366 days! (Remember it was also a leap year, and women across the world proposed to the man in their life on February 29th)

I got some amazing hair, make-up and nail gifts for Christmas and have been enjoying testing them out. I have a long way to go though and haven't been able to play with everything yet, but I felt like a little child on Christmas morning opening up my presents and I hope you all did too, and that santa brought you what you wanted! I will review some of the lovely things I got in the coming weeks, but I wanted this post to be dedicated to the products I have loved so much this year.

My first hero is:

OPI, not one colour in particular but more OPI as a brand, because I truly love their nail varnish and their manicure and pedicure products. I feel excitement bubble inside my tummy when I hear they have a new colour or collection coming out, and I spend ages looking through my ever growing wish list of colours I want. They offer a huge range of colours with names that make you smile, their quality is great and they were the brand that made me fall in love with nail varnish again, after years of dissapointment when my nail varnish chipped after a few hours. OPI I salute you for creating wonderful nail varnish!

Soap & Glory, I love their range of products, the style, fragrance and packaging. I use their moisturising lotion every day, have their scrub in the bathroom and their hand cream on my night stand. A gift set from them is on my wish list every Christmas, and santa didn't disappoint when he brought me the "best of all" kit full of their lovely products and a box of their body butters. I am a very happy girl and have a years supply of their gorgeous products!

Urban Decay, I am a massive fan of this brand and have been since 2005 when I bought a few eye shadows and fell in love with their colour range and formula. I had sat looking online at their range for a long time before I bought anything because they weren't so well known in the UK back then and it wasn't as widely available. My favourite neutral eye shadow of all time is "sin" and I wear it a lot. I love Urban Decay for their colour range, their beautiful packaging and funky names for their products.

As much as I could go on and on about different brands and products I love ( Essie, Nails inc, No 7, Too Faced) I wanted this list to only contain the brands that I really truly love and feel excited about. There is no better proof that you are a massive fan of something than the erratic hand clapping and squealing noises you make when you see something new by them (or is that just me?).

So there is my list of 3 special brands who are my absolute favourites that I have used constantly this year and written about a whole lot.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and a wonderful 2012. I look forward to seeing you all next year (in a virtual sense of course).

Happy New Years Eve everyone!

Pretty Shiny Things

Hi everyone, sorry it has been so long since I last blogged. I kind of lost my blogging mojo a little, and have had other stuff going on in my little world that has been taking up a lot of my attention span.

Everything gets a little crazy around Christmas time, I'm sure you have all been busy little bee's buying lots of gifts and eating lots of mince pies. I have seen so many beautiful things whilst wandering the shops and I wish I could have it all, greedy I know but I have always been a bit of a magpie and I love glittery, shiny things!

I was in Debenhams at the weekend and was looking at the Dita Von Teese stand for Art Deco and fell in love with a beautiful little eye shadow palette called "Golden Vintage Eyelights" I couldn't stop cooing over how pretty it was. The compact itself is shiny and gold (magpie syndrome went crazy at first sight) and then there are 3 shades of eye shadow inside, a pale cream shimmer, baby pink and a brown. They all have pretty little glitter flecks in them and they are shaped like feathers. The palette was on special in the Debenhams Christmas event so I got it for £22.50 and I am so happy with it.

Please excuse the fact that I have used the compact before photographing it, but I couldn't resist : )

I couldn't find this on Debenhams website but if you pop in store they should have the Dita Von Teese stand, but here is a link to Art Deco.

I spent ages looking at their products, they have an amazing range of eye shadows, and the colours are so beautiful. I have a wish list as long as my arm for colours I want from Art Deco.
